Healthcare is moving towards predictive, preventative care utilizing diagnostics and treatment as options that allow physicians to follow the course of a disease, evaluate which therapeutic regimes are most effective, and determine long-term susceptibility and recurrence. New molecular biomarker discovery approaches are an important foundation for the development of these options.

As diseases are better understood at a molecular level, the promise of personalized medicine is becoming a reality. Growing demand in the marketplace for more personalized care has fueled the development of prognostics/diagnostics based on newly discovered molecular biomarkers. Identifying these biomarkers and translating them into clinical tests is a process that demands robust analysis. Genetics Squared is uniquely positioned to meet this demand by leveraging the simplest, most effective path to market for molecular diagnostic tests—its EvolverTM analysis platform.

Evolver is a proprietary, non-statistical computational platform that applies genetic programming algorithms to the rapidly expanding amounts of clinical and biological data generated by conducting research into the molecular mechanisms underlying different disease states. Evolver successfully integrates diverse and voluminous data to produce concise, predictive relationships between biomarkers and the clinical outcomes associated with them. These relationships or ‘signatures’ serve as the basis of clinical tests.

Through use of Evolver and collaborations with academic and industrial partners, G2 works to provide targeted and effective diagnostic and prognostic tests to clinicians worldwide. Such tools allow clinicians to obtain a more comprehensive picture of an individual's disease, and ultimately make better decisions regarding their care. These individualized treatment regimens are the essence of personalized medicine, and the primary focus of our efforts—to apply novel technology in response to the need for more personalized strategies in patient care.
